In July 2019, we successfully delivered two exhaust duct drain pump sets to the Armaments Corporation of SA SOC Limited (ARMSCOR). These pumps will be installed in the navy frigate fleet and are to replace the original pumps. ARMSCOR is the procurement agency of the South African Department of Defence and we successfully bid for this important contract in 2017.
One of AR Jones Engineering’s key services offering is to source and supply premium OEM pumps and valves. We achieve this through our network of trusted suppliers of quality pumps. For this contract we partnered with Rapid Allweiler, who have the distribution rights for the types of pumps required for this contract.
When responding to the tender we understood that pricing is important for AMSCOR as is proof that we have the technical ability to supply and install the pumps. We learnt however that it was also due to our relationship with Rapid Allweiler that ARMSCOR had confidence that we would be able to supply the correct pumps.
We have previously worked with Rapid Allweiler on a municipal contract as well as a contract in the steel industry. Our point of contact at Rapid Allweiler is Bernice Manson, Sales Representative; when we approached her for comment for this post on completing the delivery of the pumps she said:
