Having grown up in Vredendal I know how passionate the community is about sports, in particular rugby. I also know how important rugby is to the community – sport is a great unifier and brings immense happiness not only to those who participate in the game, but to the families that gather at the rugby club each weekend.
The Invincible RFC club, established in 1965, is an amateur rugby club with a long history in Vredendal. Their motto “What you put in is what you get out”, really resonates with me, I am a firm believer that we shape our own destiny through hard work and commitment.
Rugby is a tough sport; to succeed the players need passion, immense grit and determination. These qualities are not dissimilar to succeeding in business.
It is also well documented that sports drives social cohesion and those participating in sports learn many skills. Playing in a team also positively impacts people’s self esteem and outlook in life. These are the qualities that help positively shape a person’s future.
When the club approached AR Jones Engineering to sponsor their rugby jerseys, we were more than happy to do so. Our sponsorship covers the production of 25 rugby jerseys, which will carry the AR Jones Engineering logo. I am looking forward to watching the team run onto the field wearing their new jerseys. I wish them well for the 2020 season.
